Join the Hunt
The Hunter’s Moon rises at the time of year when people traditionally focused on hunting game so they could then prepare the meat for the long winter. Hunting in October was ideal because, usually, farmers had already taken in the crops back in September, so hunters could chase their quarries through the newly cleared fields.

And here’s the growing scene:
The growing scene was a little challenging to arrange. I wanted the hunter to look vigilant, but I didn’t want them to look like they were targeting the wolf, buck, or sturgeon either. Having one moon sign preparing to kill and eat another didn’t seem to fit the spirit of the piece.
