Easter Egg Gallery 2011

It’s back! Our Second Easter egg Gallery is ready to celebrate spring. As always, we have eggs decorated with the Lepus Studio characters, as well as tributes to some other favorite webcomics.

Happy Easter!

Dynamite and Detonator from Urban Underbrush (by me)

Dynamite_Detonator_egg
Here are Dynamite and Detonator, the Jack Rabbit Brothers, taking a time out from mayhem to run around for a bit. It’s always nice to have a few rabbits at Easter.

Draconis from Draconis Wicked (by me)

Draconis Egg
Draconis strikes a fighting pose. The first chapter of his book is about to debut and he’s ready for action. You can now see some of the preview images on the Draconis Wicked page.

Tributes to Other Web Comics

Reynard from Wave Tyrant by Kristine Synowka

Reynard_egg
Okay, Wave Tyrant has not actually begun yet (give it a few days), but I have been fortunate enough to see some of the preview art and early drafts. The story should be up soon and it will be fantastic. Do yourself a favor and get on board at the beginning.

Dimitri and an Eeb from SpaceTrawler by Christopher Baldwin

I wanted to include one of the human characters as well, but it was tough to choose just one. I picked Dimitri because he’s helpful in the kitchen and would probably appreciate being featured on food. Dimitri has a lot of other interests as well, but this is a family-friendly site, so I can’t discuss any of them here.
I had to include an alien eeb. Their egg shape makes them an irresistible design.

Kyra from Uh-Oh, It’s a Dinosaur by Andrew Bilitz

kyra egg
Who can resist hatching Kyra? I discovered Uh-Oh, It’s a Dinosaur about ten months after beginning Urban Underbrush. If I had known of her before I started, I probably would have turned Scatter into a snake or something. Meh, it’s probably better this way.
For the sisterhood of webcomic lizards!

CK from Commander Kitty by Scotty Arsenault

ck egg
The title character of the long-running Commander Kitty webcomic, CK strikes a typical confused expression. Today, I discovered what expressive eyes and ears that cat has. He’s a joy to draw. I recommend you try it.

The Code Monkey (A Tribute to Jonathan Coulton)

joco_egg
Who likes geeky internet music? Everyone? Great.
I can’t say enough good things about JoCo. Last fall, I had some trouble downloading some music from the site (all my fault, the site works great). The man personally sent me some new links and made sure I got everything I paid for. Class act.
Anyone see The Travels of Code Monkey? More good stuff.
