Interesting point. Yapix probably could build a boat after all. But, in his arrogance, his mindset might be, “If I haven’t thought up a solution in a few hours, it’s probably impossible.” If they were stuck on this island for long, he’d probably revisit the idea and work something out. But, given the limits on tools and other resources, Malcorona could have conquered the world before they made it back. Luckily, things are going to go in another direction first.
