As you get closer to the monster plant, the rules of nature say that the sprouts and vines get thicker, while the rules of comics say the everything else should get a little darker.

    She does have a point, though. The risk is fairly high even if it’s only poisonous for a few months.

      Since they’re training to be warriors, for war presumably, or at least some sort of life-threatening combat, I suspect their philosophy is that if the training isn’t at least a bit dangerous/deadly then it’s not really proper training. Warrior cultures tend to not be very risk-averse, I would think.
