Full Moon Art Challenge 2025 – December

To find out about The Full Moon Art Challenge and learn how to join in, visit the event page. Don’t forget to tag your art #FullMoonArtChallenge2025 so we can find it online.

If you’re joining in, share your Elder Tree Moon art on December 3rd, 4th, or 5th

Respect Your Elders

The final tree of the Celtic Tree Zodiac is the Elder Tree, a sign of regeneration.

Elders are some of the last trees to drop their leaves in the winter. This is seen as a sign of nature’s hibernation, which leads to the season of the Birch tree and rebirth, which begins the cycle anew.

Elder trees are also associated with good health, likely because the flowers and berries can be used in medicines or in foods with medicinal qualities. (IMPORTANT- Raw elder flowers can be poisonous, so please don’t prepare herbs or teas unless you know how. And I mean really know how. That herbal guide you found in the app store doesn’t cut it.)

See You Next Year

I’m still choosing a theme for The Full Moon Art Challenge in 2026 (feel free to leave a comment if you have any suggestions). Keep an eye on this blog, or on the Full Moon Art Challenge events page, or follow us on Bluesky to get the word as soon as it is announced.

Meanwhile, the 2026 Full Moon Calendar poster is still on sale in the shop. Order this week for Christmas delivery!
